Due to its high quality of life, vibrant culture and strong economy, Australia has become one of the world’s most prominent destinations in the world among immigrants. How are these points calculated?
These points are attained on the basis of the following factors:
1) Age
The candidates will get maximum of 30 points if they are aged between 25 to 32 years.

2) Language proficiency: If the candidates score 8 bands in the IELTS exam then they can get a maximum of 20 points. The candidates can also take other tests such as IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, etc.
3) Work experience: The candidates will get a maximum 15 points if they have more than 8 years of experience in the last 10 years in any skilled employment outside Australia.

4) Education: The Maximum points are given to a doctorate degree from an Australian university or a doctorate from a university outside Australia. The degree outside Australia must be recognized by the Australian government.

5) Spouse application: Additional 10 points will be provided to the candidates in their skill select EOI if their spouse is accompanying them. In order to gain these points the spouse of the candidate is required to meet following requirements:
- The age of the spouse must be less than 45 years of age
- He/She Should attain basic score in English Language
- The Job occupation code of the spouse should be in the same occupation list as the primary applicant list.
Based on the changes in the Australia points-based system from November 2019, candidates can get points on the below mentioned criteria for spouse application:

How to get PR in Australia?
