Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Immigration Program (NLPNP)
Being one of the most popular among all the PNP programs, the Newfoundland and Labrador Provincial Nomination Program i.e., NLPNP allows the province to hire skilled workers on the basis of the market demand. Candidates who are nominated under this program receive additional points under the CRS which ultimately helps them getting the ITA i.e., an Invitation to Apply for Permanent Residency.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Here is the eligibility criteria for each of the above mentioned categories:
- Express Entry Skilled Worker
- Valid Job Offer: In order to be eligible for this category under the NLPNP Program, the candidate is required to have a job offer from an employer of the Newfoundland and Labrador Province. The job offer must be of minimum 2 years. In addition to that, the job offer must be classified under the NOC skill level 0 , A or B. Lastly, the international candidates are required to show proof of valid work permit if they are staying in Canada.
- Language Proficiency: The candidates are required to meet the minimum language criteria and have to provide the proof of language proficiency tests, which can be in either of the offical languages i.e., French or English.
- Educational Qualification: The candidates must have a Canadian post secondary diploma or they must have the ECA in case of foreign candidates. The ECA i.e., Educational Credential Assesment is used in order to check whether the candidate’s level of education is meeting the Canadian Standards or not.
- Work Experience: To be eligible for this category, the candidates must hold a minimum of pne year experience in the past ten years in a NOC Skill level 0,A or B employement.
- Skilled Worker
- Valid Job Offer: To be eligible for this stream, candidates are required to have a full time employement offer from an employer in the province. The job offer must meet the demand of the industry. In case the candidate is a foreign national and is currently residing in Canada then he/she must show the proof of Valid Work Permit.
- Language Proficiency: The Candidates are required to meet the minimum language criteria in the language proficiency tests, which can be in either of the offical languages i.e., French or English. Those candidates who are enrolled in the NOC Skill Level C or D , must have at least CLB level 4 in the language proficiency test.
- International Graduate
- Job Offer: To be eligible for this stream , candidates must have a valid full-time employement offer from an eligible employer in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Additionally, the candidate must also meet the educational and experience requirements as outlined in the description of the job.
- Language Proficiency: The Candidates are required to meet the minimum language criteria in the language proficiency tests, which can be in either of the offical languages i.e., French or English. Those candidates who are enrolled in the NOC Skill Level C or D , must have at least CLB level 4 in the language proficiency test.
- Educational Qualification: Candidates applying for this stream must have completed graduation from an eligible Canadian post-secondary institution. The duration of the program must have been minimum 2 years in case of degree or diploma or one year in case of post graduate degree. Further, additional requirements of educational credentials must be met by the candidate for which employement offer has been made.
- Work Experience: When the candidates would be applying for this category , they must be on their PGWP i.e., Post Graduation Work Permit. There must be a remianing validity of 6 months on their work permit during the period of their nomination. The ones who have completed their education outside the province, may require to be employed for a minimum period of one year in their field of study before the submission of the application along with additional work experience in the relevant field they have been offered the job.
- International Entrepreneur
- Language Proficiency: The candidates are required to meet the minimum language criteria in the language proficiency tests, which can be in either of the offical languages i.e., French or English. A minimum CLB 5 will be required.
- Educational Qualification: The candidates must have a Canadian post secondary diploma or they must have the ECA in case of foreign candidates. The ECA i.e., Educational Credential Assesment is used in order to check whether the candidate’s level of education is meeting the Canadian Standards or not.
- Work Experience: The Candidates must have enough work experience to run a business in the province. Either the candidate must have two years of work experience as an active business owner-manager or he/she must have more than five years of work experience as a senior business manager.
- Investment Requirement: This Category demands the Candidates to invest in the business in the province. An amount of $600,000 CAD must be demonstrated by the Candidate as personal net worth. In addition to that, he/she also are also required to invest minimum $200,000 CAD in a new or obtainable business.
- International Graduate Entrepreneur
- Language Proficiency: The candidates are required to score a minimum CLB 7 in either French or English.
- Educational Qualifications: Well, under this category the educational qualifications are quite different. A minimum 2 years of post-secondary educational credential is required. This qualification must have been completed in-person at either Memorial University or the College of the North Atlantic. The credential must have been completed within 2 years of submission of the EOI i.e, Expression of Interest.
- Work Experience: There must be minimum one year of experience in managing and owning a business actively under which the candidate must hold minimum one-third ownership.
- Atlantic Immigration Program: AIP is a pathway to permanent residency under which skilled foreign workers and international graduates who have completed their studies from Canada’s institution are allowed to work in any one of the following province:
- New Brunswick
- Nova Scotia
- Prince Edward Island
- Newfoundland and Labrador
This program is is designed in such a way that helps employers in hiring qualified candidates for the jobs they haven’t been able to fill theclose by.

It usually takes less than 6 months for the processing.
How to apply for NLPNP?
Initially, the candidates need to check various categories in order to identify the best suitable option according to their profile alongside meeting the eligibility criteria. If you are eligible for the same, then you need to send EOI to the NLPNP. In case the candidate gets nominated then he/she would be awarded with additional points on successfully creating Express Entry profile online. Later, you can apply for permanent residency.
